Diwali

The owners of our building invited us to go to their Diwali celebration a couple weeks ago.  It was fun and neat to experience another culture.  And of course Peter and I loved the Indian food!

There was some great singing, music, and dancing.  We didn't get to stay for all of it, but they even had some fireworks at the end.

Our friend's little boy loved the music and dancing, he was talking to them and twisting his hands around like the dancers.  It was so cute!

I was looking at the other camera I guess.  Here we are with Jai.

Our landlords Jai and Mahadie, Jai is the president of the organization that put the celebration on

It was a fun night and we're glad they invited us to go.  And as an added bonus, they sent us home with more food!

On a side note, last night we heard a weird sound outside our bedroom window so I looked out and saw a big bird fly from above our window and fly away, then a few seconds later another one flew to a pole right beside our window.  I thought it was a hawk or something because it was so big, but come to find out after watching it, it was a huge bat!!  We've seen bats outside our window flying around at night before, but never these giant bats on steroids that were there last night, hopefully they haven't found a new home at our place.
