Christmas Girl's Night

Before we left for our break for Christmas we had one last girl's night.  It was so much fun!!  We all said it seemed like we were single and in high school again; staying up late talking, being crazy, and laughing so hard it hurt.

We started out our night by putting our hair up in rags

We then put on our red lipstick and the real fun began!

Michelle, Emily, Blaire, Stephanie, Lyndzee, me, Sarah, Sara

Laughing so hard it hurt
After all the pictures we did a secret santa, and everyone was so creative and did really great gifts.  Blaire had me and gave me some awesome earrings, yummy Pringles, and Butterfingers.  After exchanging gifts we all piled on the air mattress and watched a christmas movie.

When I walked in the door super late that night with my hair up in rags, Peter looked at me and said "Oh wow, what did you guys do tonight?  Are you wearing red lipstick?"  It was so funny, he thought we were so weird, but it was fun.

Here we are early the next morning after sleeping in our rags, as you can see some of us you can tell we had a late night and look like we're still asleep, but here is how our hair turned out.

I posted a ton of pictures, but this wasn't near all of them.

We all have our tough days where we aren't fans of Grenada, and miss our husbands so much, but thanks to the awesome girls here it makes it so much easier and a lot more fun.  Thanks for the fun night, and tons of fun days girls!!

Guess What Came To Grenada...

I couldn't believe it when I heard the news that Breaking Dawn was actually coming to Grenada in a decent amount of time after it came out in the US.  With other movies it seems like we get it a whole season after it comes out in the states, so this was a very pleasant surprise.  So what were a bunch of wives that are home alone because their husbands are off studying to do, go to two for one night at the theatre.

And what could make that night even more awesome, homemade sparkle signs of course!  Lyndzee was great and made us all signs depending on if we were for Edward or Jacob.

I am of course an Edward girl and am declaring that I like men who sparkle.  The signs say "Team Edward", "We like men who sparkle", and "Jacob makes me howl".

Here we are inside waiting for the show to start

It was such a fun night and we all agreed that this was the best movie so far.

Goodbye To Friends

What's great about being here is that there are so many people going through the same thing together, so you make a lot of friends and support each other.  But the bad thing about that is every term more friends leave to move on to the next step in the process.  It's so sad to have them leave the island, but we're so excited for them to be moving on.

Stefani had to leave earlier than expected to go have her cute baby safely back home in the states.  So we came to her and had a fun night of popcorn and cupcakes while she was on bed rest.

To do Blaire and Emily's send off we all went for pizza at Le Phare Bleu, followed by a crazy night including making smoothies later.

Emily and Blaire are probably off to New York
We all miss these girls already, but happy for them!

We Found Seven Sisters

A few posts back I talked about how Peter and I tried to find the hike seven sisters that takes you to seven different waterfalls, but we never found it.  Well I found it, minus Peter though, so he'll have to go another time.  The girls and I went and hiked it, but didn't go to all of the falls because at the beginning they said that they weren't letting people do it anymore because there had been some accidents lately.  But we had a lot of fun doing the hike and playing in the water.

Some of the girls jumped off the fall at the bottom

And then we decided we needed to do some synchronized swimming

Yes, we acted like we were in junior high again, but it was fun, and then people from a cruise ship arrived and we did our "show" in front of them, but we don't think they were too impressed.

Hiking back out was a lot different then hiking in because it was all up hill on the way out, and a ton of people started coming from the cruise ships, so it was really muddy, and there were tons of people trying to hike down while we were hiking up.

After hiking out we stopped at Grand Etang, which is normally dead, but because of all the tourists, there was tons of stuff going on that we hadn't seen before.

It was probably one of the funnest hikes so far, I'm sure it's because of the super fun girls that I got to hike with.

Back In Grenada

We are back in Grenada after going home for the break for a few weeks.  It was so so nice to be able to see our family and friends, and do tons of fun stuff.  We both miss being home already, we weren't ready to come back to Grenada because being home went by so fast, but it's nice to see all our Grenada friends again.

I didn't take really any pictures while we were home, I guess I was just having too much fun.  Here are the few that I have:

Sunrise at the airport the morning we left Grenada

Sunset from the plane on the day we left Grenada

It was quite the long day getting home from Grenada, we got to the airport in Grenada at 3:15AM on December 10th, and six stops and four planes later we arrived in Salt Lake on December 11th around 4:30AM Grenada time, so it was over 24 hours of traveling.  We were very tired, but so excited to be back.

Us after an ugly sweater party
Peter did not want to take this picture, but he was a good sport

We literally had something different to do every day while we were home, and we had so much fun every minute.  The only thing that didn't happen was Peter didn't get to go snowboarding because it hardly snowed at all while we were there.  Hopefully it will be a long winter because he has hopes of going snowboarding when we go back later in the year since he missed out this go around.

Getting back to Grenada we had an overnight layover in Miami and it wasn't too great; the hotel was really really gross, it didn't have an elevator so we (by we I mean Peter) had to lug our very heavy bags up two flights of stairs, and they didn't let us do a late check out even though they said they would when we booked it.  We will sum up our Miami airport experience with one word, unorganized.  It was probably the worst experience at an airport that we've ever had, the workers kept telling us to wait in the wrong lines, so it took us well over an hour just to get checked in.  At least we learned a valuable lesson from our experience, to not have an overnight layover in Miami ever again.

So now it's back to our lives in Grenada, including Peter going back to school tomorrow.  One term down and four more to go, in Grenada at least, lots more for the total medical school experience, but we try not to think about it that way; one step at a time.
