I'm honestly not too sure what Carnival is celebrated for, I didn't get a sense that matters too much, what I got out of it, is it means that people can do whatever they want for a couple days and party. It was an experience to say the least. We didn't participate in most of the extravaganza's, but we did go with some friends to a parade, we packed 22 of us in a little reggae bus, and were on our way. The music was crazy, and was so insanely loud that expression, 'you couldn't hear yourself think', definitely applied here, which maybe explained why people were doing some of the crazy stuff they were doing.
Some of the costumes and themes were really cool, and we were glad to have a fun day out with friends.
