About time

I figured that two months of not posting was long enough and I needed to finally do a post.  I have a ton to catch up on, we had such an amazing break.  We had a fun break being together consisting of tons of firsts for Peter around the island, while it was at least my tenth time doing it all; it was fun to do it all with him though.  We had visitors, which was so so so amazing and was like a breath of fresh air to the island, and helped us see Grenada in a whole new light.

I'm going to first catch up with things from last term, then start posting about our fun break later.  So here it goes...

We had no idea that there are freezers in existence that you have to defrost or you will no longer have room in your freezer.  I noticed that there was less and less room in our already mini freezer because of the ice on all sides.  So after a little work, this is what came out of our 6x12 inch freezer.

Another new thing we got to experience because we are in Grenada is that Peter now gets his hair cut by me to save money.  Poor Peter is such a good sport and after me watching a few YouTube videos let me have a go at it.  I had no idea what I was doing, and I still have no idea, but thanks to some pointers from a friend I'm still doing it.  Here are some pictures after his first hair cut from me.  It is pretty cool that we can just go to the beach and do it, it's an awesome backdrop for a hair cut.

Our church in Grenada has a main branch in St. George's, but also has two other groups on other parts of the island.  One Sunday we volunteered to go to one of the groups in Gouyave and help out.  I hope everyone has heard of Kirani James, he is Grenada's pride and joy, he won Grenada's first medal in the Olympics, and he won gold!  Gouyave is Kirani's hometown, and they already made a change to show their pride.  We had a great experience meeting with the members in Gouyave.

The gorgeous view from the building

Some friends threw a fun Halloween party, which of course consisted of some yummy treats and watching Ghostbusters.  Taylor and I dressed up together and had a fun night.

A few of us watching the movie

We had a low key Thanksgiving this year with some good friends and a ton of yummy food.  We of course didn't do it on Thanksgiving because the students were busy with class and studying, and our plans were pretty last minute, but it was a great day.  I have no idea what was going on with my camera, but a bunch of the pictures turned out blurry.

Thomas and Alta

Chip and Whitney

Jordan and Amy

I guess Thomas just had to be in the picture with us, don't mind our super shiny faces

I work with two lovely ladies who are from India, so when Diwali came around Anitha threw us a Diwali party in style.  She made tons and tons of food and to say the least I was in heaven; and lucky Peter got to have some leftovers.

That's the majority the rest of what we were up to last term.  My next few posts will be about our fun break spent on Grenada.

We are now in our last term in Grenada; we will be gone in less than three months.  We know that when we leave it will be bitter sweet, so we're trying to enjoy the now.
