Surprise

My friends threw me a surprise birthday breakfast about two months after my birthday.  I know it sounds like they have no clue when my birthday is, but they really do, but I was home for my birthday so we didn't celebrate it in Grenada.  My friends didn't think it was acceptable to not celebrate my birthday, so they did a surprise.

I of course had no idea, because I wasn't expecting anything, but looking back it's a good thing I was totally clueless or else I would have caught on that something was up.

A few friends and I go running on the beach every Monday and Wednesday, and the night before one of our runs Lyndzee sends me a message asking if I wanted to wear my swimsuit to go running.  I immediately asked why, because last time she said to wear our swimsuit running she wanted us to do laps in the ocean, she assured me we weren't going to do that, but that Michelle wanted to hang out at the beach after.  I said that sounded fun and said that I wanted to see if Amy wanted to go too.  So I wrote Amy and she said yes she wanted to come hang out, but then a minute later wrote back and said that she couldn't anymore.  Lyndzee had written her and told her to say no or else I wouldn't leave the beach because I would be waiting for her to show up.

The morning of, while Amberlea and I were driving to the beach, she asked if I would mind stopping at a restaurant after because she heard they have yummy cupcakes and she wanted to get some for her husband, so I said sure.  After our run on the beach we usually hang out for a little bit and talk, which we did, and then we were just standing there, so I said why don't we get our stuff out and hang out on the beach like we were planning.  They all just kind of looked at me, then Lyndzee said that instead she heard of a new restaurant that has a pool, so we should go do that instead.  I said that works out perfect, because Amberlea wanted to go there anyway and get some cupcakes.

So we all start driving off, and Michelle speeds off, which she did so she could go warn everyone that I was coming.  We get there and I see some friends cars there.  I said hey, is that Natalia's car, and Lizzy's car; I guess they had the same idea as us.  We get out and start walking up the stairs and Lyndzee is at the top just smiling at me, and I get to the top and there is a table with my friends and they all yell "surprise", and at first it didn't register what was happening, I started looking around trying to figure out what they were saying surprise to, but they said "surprise Amber" then it clicked and I said "What!?".  I was totally shocked!

We had a very yummy breakfast; I had passion fruit juice, and a way good breakfast sandwich, which they were so nice and paid for.  Then they came out with some chocolate mouse with a sparkler in it and sang happy birthday.  After breakfast we all hung out at the pool.

It was so so much fun, and was the first time that I've ever been surprised for my birthday.  I seriously have such great friends here!

For some reason Natalia is missing from this picture.

And don't forget that we just finished a run on the beach, so I look pretty gross.

A big thank you to my friends again for doing that, it was so much fun!  Peter didn't have a clue they were doing it either, he heard about it on the way to school that morning, they were very stealth with their planning.
